DAYTON, Ohio -- The Massachusetts men's soccer was eliminated from postseason contention by virtue of its 2-0 loss at Dayton on Friday.

The Minutemen fall to 5-10-2 overall and 2-6 in Atlantic 10 play. The Flyers improve to 10-5-1 and 4-3-1.

Dayton got on the board late in the first half when Daniel Berko's shot from the top of the 18-yard box caromed off the left post and just cleared the goal line for his ninth score of the season.

After the intermission, the Flyers added a second goal when Berko executed a back pass with his heel to Evan McCreary at the 72:31 mark.

Brian Frame made eight saves for UMass, including some highlight-reel efforts in the second half. He stopped two hard shots from inside 10 yards and a penalty shot when the game was still a one-goal margin.

UMass was credited with 11 shots on the night. Will Ellis and Josh Schwartz each a shot on goal.

The Minutemen will conclude the regular-season at No. 17/15 Xavier on Sunday afternoon.
