AMHERST, Mass. - Josh Patterson scored the game-winning goal for Duquesne seven minutes into overtime as the Dukes defeated Massachusetts 1-0 in men's soccer action at Rudd Field Sunday.

Patterson's team-leading 11th goal of the season came on an assist from Nathan McCann at 97:13.

Duquesne (6-10-1, 3-3-1 Atlantic 10) kept its hopes alive for an A-10 Tournament berth, while UMass (5-9-2, 2-5) isn't completely eliminated from contention for one of the eight spots in the event, but will need to win its final two games and get a lot of help.

The Dukes outshot the Minutemen, 21-10, while forcing UMass senior Brian Frame into seven saves. Sam Frymier made one stop for Duquesne.

UMass will conclude its season on the road next weekend when it travels to Ohio to face Dayton on Friday and No. 12/11 Xavier on Sunday.
