BOSTON - Sedric Chin of Boston University scored the golden goal in the 93rd minute of play leading the Terriers to a 1-0 overtime win against the UMass Minutemen at Nickerson Field on Tuesday night.

BU improves to 3-4-0 on the season, while UMass falls to 3-5-0

Off a quick throw-in from 30-yards out, Chin managed to find the net following a touch pass from Brian Conway giving BU its third consecutive win.

Both teams played to a stalemate throughout regulation. UMass goalkeeper Nick Billman (Saint Louis, Mo.) picked up two saves on the night, while Boston keeper Chad Comroe stopped four shots.

The Minutemen's best scoring opportunity of the first period came in the 32nd minute when Bullen fired a shot on goal from 10-yards out following a Terrier turnover. Comroe held fast in goal keeping UMass off the board.

In the second period, both teams had numerous scoring opportunities, but failed to convert sending the game into overtime. UMass and BU each took an equal number of shots, but the Minutemen forced more action around the Terrier goal as Comroe recorded three of his saves in the second half.

Ralph Pace (Boston, Va.) led Massachusetts offensively with four shots - two of which were on goal.

The Minutemen return to action on Friday when they open Atlantic 10 play at St. Joseph's. Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
