Assistant Coach

2nd Season

Hobie Hare begins his second season with the Minutemen as an assistant coach after being hired prior to the 2005 season. Hare's responsibilities inlcude working with UMass in all aspects of recruiting, practice organization and camp management along with daily coaching duties.

A three-year standout at Rider from 1996-99, the Princeton, N.J. native will assist the men's soccer program in all facets of training management, recruiting, and daily operations.

Prior to coming to UMass, Hare worked three seasons as a volunteer coach for both the men's and women's teams at Rider.

After graduating from Rider, he played professionally for two seasons with the Hershey Wildcats (1999) and with the New Jersey Stallions (1999-00).

At Rider Hare started 63 games helping the Broncs to two NCAA Tournament berths (1997, 1998). He was twice named to the All-MAAC Team. In 1998 he was honored as a member of the MAAC Tournament Team.

Hare is a USSF licensed coach, NSCAA National License, and is a certified personal trainer.
