CONWAY, N.H. - Eliza Hawkins was the fastest individually, and led the Minutewomen to an overall team win at the Brown Carnival Giant Slalom on Saturday, February 4th at Loon Mountain. Jason Small led the Minutemen with an individual win, which helped place the Minutemen in second overall at the makeup for the previously postponed UConn Carnival Slalom on Sunday February, 5th at Mt. Cranmore.

Junior Eliza Hawkins (Shelburne, Mass.) performance was especially impressive since her time would have placed her in the top ten individually amongst the men on Saturday.

Sophomore Jason Small (Shelburne Falls, Mass.) was joined in the top ten Sunday by senior Pat Bachant (Hubbardston, Mass.) and senior Patrick Hofer.

Eliza Hawkins took second at the UConn Carnival Slalom on Sunday, and senior Shaleighne Collins also finished in the top ten individually.

The weekend did not go as well for the defending national champion, junior Rush Hawkins (Shelburne, Mass.), who crashed hard on Saturday, forcing him to sit out on Sunday.

Senior Caitlin Doughty (Quincy, Mass.) also crashed this weekend. She was taken to the hospital, and was treated and released.

The UMass Team returns to action next weekend for the Boston College Carnival, starting on Saturday, February 5th.
