AS A SENIOR IN 2008:
Named a UMass Winter Scholar-Athlete ... Skied to a second place finish with a time of 1:40.17 in the Slalom at the USCSA National Championships (Mar. 8) ... Skied to a second place overall finish with a combined time of 2:16.66 in the Giant Slalom at the USCSA National Championships (Mar. 7) ... Small placed second in the Slalom and skied to victory in the Giant Slalom with a time of 1:59.67 at the USCSA East Regionals (Feb. 25-26) ... Finished first in the Giant Slalom with a time of 2:13.55 at the Plymouth State Carnival (Jan. 30) ... Placed sixth with a combined time of 2:15.24 in the Giant Slalom and took third with a total time of 1:25.97 in the Slalom at the UConn Carnival (Jan. 22) ... Finished first with a time of 1:34.34 in the Giant Slalom at the Colby-Sawyer College Carnival (Jan 14).
AS A JUNIOR IN 2007: Complete Results
Was fourth in ECSC Regionals Giant Slalom (Feb. 25) with a time of 2:09.66 ... Finished second (1:20.65), then fourth (1:25.57), in a pair of Giant Slalom races at the Boston College Carnival (Feb. 10-11) ... Finished the race at the Brown Slalom (Feb. 2)...Finished fourth (1:45.58) in the Slalom on Day One at Colby/St. Anslem's Carnival (Jan. 27) and on Day Two (Jan. 28) in the Giant Slalom, he finished third overall (1:42.12) ... Finished second overall in both Slalom races at Plymouth State Carnival (Jan. 20-21) (1:06:33) ... Recorded second place finish overall in UConn Giant Slalom (Jan. 11) (2:07.88), and third in the Slalom (1:26.19).
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: Complete Results
Was one of the top skiers in the conference with two victories and six second place finishes (five behind teammate Rush Hawkins) during the season ... Finished 20th overall at the USCSA Championships with a 16th place finish in the giant slalom and a 44th place finish in the slalom (3/9 & 3/11) ... Was strong at the ECSC Championships finishing fifth in the slalom and second to teammate Rush Hawkins in the giant slalom, helping the UMass team to first place overall in the giant slalom (2/25-26) ... Finished second in the season opening UConn Carnival Slalom (1/13) ... Scored his first collegiate win with a first place in the slalom and took second in the giant slalom at the Plymouth State Carnival (1/21-22) ... Helped lead the Minutemen to a team win with race winner Rush Hawkins by placing second overall in the Brown Carnival Slalom (1/27) ...Won the UConn Carnival Slalom (2/5) ... AS A FRESHMAN IN 2005: Complete Results
Named to All-American 2nd Team and ECSC All Conference 2nd Team ... Quickly found his spot as one of the top skiers on the UMass team ... Placed in the Top 10 in 10 of the 14 events in which he competed ... Performed well at Nationals, finishing 25th in the giant slalom seventh in the slalom (3/10 & 3/12) ... Had best overall performance of the year at the ECSC Championships, finishing sixth in the slalom and second in the giant slalom (2/26-27) ... Best finishes of second came in the slalom at the MIT & Brown Carnival (1/31-2/1), in the giant slalom at the Boston College Carnival, where he tied Rush Hawkins (2/13), and the ECSC Regional where he also placed second in the giant slalom (2/27) ...
