2006 Update:
Competed in the USCSA Nationals (3/9 & 3/11)
Helped the Minutemen win the giant slalom at the ECSC Championships by finishing 14th individually (2:08.29), third on the team (2/26)
Finished 15th individually (1:36.34), third on the team to help place the Minutemen in second in the slalom at the ECSC Championships (2/25)
Finished 25th in the EISA Championships Slalom
Finished 14th individually (1:36.35), fourth on the team to help the
Minutemen to another second place finish at the Colby-Sawyer Carnival Slalom

Finished eighth individually (1:15.02), third on the team to help UMass
place second overall at the St. Anslem's Carnival Giant Slalom (2/17)
Finished 17th overall (1:21.62), third on the team to help the Minutemen place second overall at the Boston College Carnival Giant Slalom (2/12)
Finished eighth overall (1:40.92), second on the team at the Boston College Carnival Slalom (2/11)
Finished tenth overall (1:11.64), second on the team, to place the Minutemen in second overall at the UConn Carnival Slalom (2/5)
Finished sixth overall (1:48.36) to lead the Minutemen at the Brown Carnival Giant Slalom (2/4)
Finished eighth overall (1:26.41), third on the team, helping the UMass team win the Brown Carival Slalom (1/27)
Finished third for UMass in both events, 15th overall (1:47.37) in the slalom, and 16th (1:10.08) in the giant slalom at the Plymouth State Carnival (1/21-22)
Helped the UMass team place second finishing third (1:09.76) for UMass, 21st overall at the UConn Carnival Giant Slalom (1/13)
As a Junior in 2005:
• Banchant continues to be a strong skiier for the Minutemen
• One of four UMass skiiers who placed in the top twenty in both the slalom (16) and giant slalom (17) events at the ECSC Regional.
As a sophomore on 2004: Bachant posted a excellent campaign highlighted by seven top twenty finishes including an 11th place finish in the slalom and 13th place finish in the giant slalom at the USCA Regionals(2/22-2/23)... best finish in the slalom came at the UMass Carnival (1/18) where he placed 8th ... top finish in the giant slalom came at the Colby Sawyer Carnival (2/13) where he placed 11th.
As a freshman in 2003: Enjoyed a productive freshman season with four top 20 finishes... highlight came with an 18th place finish at the USCSA Regionals....placed 16th in the slalom in the Plymouth St. Carnival ...18th at the St. Anslem Carnival.... finished 16th in the giant slalom at the Colby-Sawyer Carnival (2/14).
Personal: Born June 20, 1984...Majoring in Mechanical Engineering...Has been named to the Dean's List...Always puts right boot on first before skiing...Personal goals for the season include finishing in the Top Ten in division stanings...Spent the past summer (205) as an Engineering intern in Boston...son of Bruce and Judy Bachant...has one sister Brittany(13).
