UMass Lacrosse Claims 22nd New England Championship

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The UMass men's lacrosse team captured its 22nd New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Championship on Tuesday. UMass shares the crown with Harvard as the Minutemen posted a 10-5 overall record and reached the CAA Championship Game. UMass last won the New England title in 2006. This is UMass sixth title since 2001. The champion is decided by a coaches poll. Here is the final poll:
UMass has won the NEILA title in 1963, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2011.
