Juniors Sean Morris (Marshfield, Mass.) and Jack Reid (Glastonbury, Conn). were invited to tryout for the 2006 U.S. Men's Lacrosse team, announced today.

Joining these two current Minutemen are four UMass alumni who currently play professional lacrosse. Attackman Kevin Leveille, midfielder Chris Fiore, and defenseman Tom Fallon all suit up for the Boston Cannons, along with Long Island Lizard midfielder Dan Paccione.

US Lacrosse has announced the 120 players that have been invited to try out for the 2006 U.S. Men's Lacrosse Team. A total of 30 attackmen, 42 midfielders, 36 defensemen and 12 goalies were invited to participate by the 2006 U.S. Team Men's Player Selection Committee, chaired by three-time U.S. team player Larry Quinn. The players were selected from a field of approximately 200 applicants.

The two will travel to the University of Maryland-Baltimore Country on June 13-16, where the tryouts will take place. 23 players will be selected from those tryouts to represent the United States at the International Lacrosse Federation World Championships in July 2006 in London, Ontario.

Morris who ranks fourth in the nation in points per game (4.33) and fifth in the nation in goals per game (2.75), leads the Minutemen in goals (34), assists (21), and points (55).

Reid, a mainstay in the UMass defense that ranks 12thin the nation, allowing just 7.92 goals per game, leads the team in groundballs with 49 and caused turnovers with 31.
