Will Manny Named CAA Player Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - After leading UMass to a pair of wins against Harvard and Saint Joseph's, junior attack Will Manny was named the CAA Player of the Week as announced on Monday. Manny tallied 15 points in the two games thanks to eight goals and seven assists. This marks the second time this season he has earned the CAA Player of the Week honor.
His 8 goals came on just 9 shots and he added 6 groundballs and 2 caused turnovers to his weekly totals.
Against Harvard, the Massapequa, N.Y.m, native posted 5 goals (6 shots), 2 assists, 5 groundballs, and 1 caused turnovers. Against Saint Joseph's, he recorded 3 goals (3 shots), 5 assists, 1 groundball and 1 caused turnover.
For the season, he has 29 goals and 19 assists to lead UMass with 48 total points. Manny also leads the CAA this season in goals and points per game and is second in assists per game. Nationally, he is among the nation's top-10 in goals per game and points per game.
In 37 career games, Manny now has 76 goals and 59 assists. His 29 goals this season are a season-best for his career and he is just three assists shy from tying his season-best total of 22 set last year.
Manny and the Minutemen will return to action this Saturday, April 7 against Towson in a CAA match-up at Garber Field. The opening faceoff is set for 1 PM.
