AMHERST, Mass. - Men's lacrosse junior Grant Whiteway was named the UMass Athlete of the Week on Monday after the Billerica, Mass., native helped the Minutemen earn wins over Providence, 16-11 and No. 5 Penn State, 8-6 with 10 points on eight goals and two assists. Whiteway will be recognized on Wednesday, March 19 beginning at Noon in the Massachusetts Room of the Mullins Center.

The starting attackman totaled a career-best eight points through seven goals and one assists as Massachusetts defeated Providence, 16-11 at home on Tuesday, March 11. He followed up he stellar play against the Friars with a multi-point day at No. 5 Penn State as he tallied once and assisted on another UMass goal during the 8-6 victory earned on Saturday, March 15.

The salad-to-dessert buffet costs attendees $13 per person while parking is free in the lot located directly West of the Mullins Center. Guest speakers include a pair of Olympic medal-winning UMass coaches in rowing head coach Jim Dietz and softball associate head coach Danielle Henderson. The event is free of charge to attend and is open to the public.
