Feb. 5, 2014
BALTIMORE - University of Massachusetts alumnus Kevin Leveille was one of 30 players selected to the U.S. Men's Lacrosse National Team in preparation for the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship, as announced by U.S. Lacrosse on Wednesday evening. The event will be hosted in Denver, Colo., from July 10-19.
At UMass, Leveille ranks 13th all-time with 159 points earned from 2000-03. He was a third-time USILA All-America selection (2001-03) while his 105 goals still stand as the ninth-most recorded by a Minuteman in program history and third-highest total accrued during Greg Cannella's 19-year tenure as head coach.
Leveille was one of seven attackmen chosen for the team from a 51-player training roster that took to the field at the Champion Challenge on Jan. 26. Team USA reconvenes for training camps June 22-26 and July 6-9 before the squad is reduced to 23 active players for the duration of the FIL World Championship.
