    ON YAMAN: Senior midfielder who has gained a lot of experience over his last three years ... according to Cannella, "expected to be a senior leader on the offensive group perhaps with his own midfield group being the elder statesman in the midfield to guide some of the younger guys" ... shoots the ball well on the run ... needs to stay healthy for a good senior year.

  • Senior who ran with second midfield who equaled first three season total of goals (8) in first six games of season.
  • Has 16 goals this season, sixth on team.
  • Led team in man-up goals with five along with Brett Garber.
  • Scored and assisted a goal in NCAA Final vs. Virginia (5/29). His goal made it 7-6.
  • Started UMass' 6-0 run against Hofstra (5/20) in NCAA Quarterfinal with began miracle comeback for 11-10 OT win.
  • After four scoreless games, netted a big goal off a fastbreak at Cornell (5/13) in NCAA First Round in Central NY return.
  • Notched goal and first assist of the season vs. Hobart (4/15).
  • Tallied second career hat trick at St. John's (4/8) including two man-up goals. Scored on only three shots of the game.
  • Netted game-winner on man-up vs. Loyola (3/25) in 14-9 win.
  • Scored vs. Sacred Heart (3/21) for eighth of year.
  • Tallied first-career hat trick at Brown (3/18) with three second-half goals including second-career game-winning goal.
  • Scored four goals in first two games of the season with two each at Yale (3/4) and vs. Hofstra (2/26). Four goals in two games, tied his entire total from both soph. and junior years.

    AS A JUNIOR IN 2005: Midfielder who played in 15 games with eight starts... ran on the first midfield line before an injury against St. John's (4/9)... scooped up four groundballs at Harvard (4/26)... took two shots and picked up two GBs vs. Georgetown (4/23)... picked up two groundballs and took a career-high five shots at Hobart (4/16)... tallied a goal and picked up a groundball against Penn State (4/2) and suffered an injury late in the game that caused him to miss the St. John's (4/9) game... ripped a career-high five shots a Loyola (3/26)... buried two goals and picked up a groundball vs. Brown (3/19)... at Albany (3/15), dished an assist and scooped up three groundballs... scored a goal in the home-opening win against Yale (3/5).

    AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2004: Played in 15 of 16 games as a midfielder... tallied four goals and four groundballs... notched a goal in the season finale win over Rutgers (5/8)... tallied the game-winning goal against Manhattan (4/19)... scored a goal and picked up a groundball at Penn State (4/23)... fired a career-high four shots and scooped up a groundball vs. Stony Brook (3/6)... scored first-collegiate goal against Hartford (3/2).

    AS A FRESHMAN IN 2003: Appeared in five games... recorded two shots and four groundballs as a reserve midfielder.

    BEFORE UMASS: Was a four-year letterwinner for Thomas Cottrell at Homer High School... scored 101 points (50 g, 51 a) during his senior year, which ranks as the fourth-best single-season mark in school history... tallied 181 career points... team captain during his senior year... was an All-League selection three times and earned All-County his senior year... was a member of the 2001 Empire Team and was named Defensive MVP of the section III senior game... was team MVP and Homer's Male Athlete of the Year following his senior season... also starred on the soccer and basketball teams at Homer High School.
