    ON STABERT: According to Cannella, "he's a real heady attack man, being a former basketball player he's future coach in my mind" ... a coach out there on the field ... knows every thing we do inside and out ... has the ability to get open ... needs to really finish the ball for success... gets himself into spots and needs to finish those opportunities for the attack and for himself ... a really good off the ball player knows how to get himself open.

    2006 UPDATE

  • Flourished on first attack as a senior.
  • Tied for sixth on the team in scoring with 25points, tallying 17 goals and eight assists. 17 goals is tied for fourth on the team.
  • Had 18 of his 25 points in six games in 2006.
  • Scored first goal for UMass in NCAA Championship vs. Virginia (5/29).
  • In his return to his native Philadelphia had an assist in NCAA Semifinal vs. Maryland (5/27).
  • Scored first goal for UMass in NCAA Quarterfinal win over Hofstra (5/20), also assisted two goals in UMass' 6-0 run to win the game in overtime. First multi-assist game in career.
  • Assisted Andrew Recchione's game-winning goal in the NCAA First Round win at Cornell (5/13), also had a goal in the win.
  • On Senior Day, scored the first goal of the game, 1:05 into the game vs. Rutgers (5/6).
  • Netted the first goal at Syracuse (4/29).
  • Scored a goal at Georgetown (4/22).
  • Tallied two goals vs. Hobart (4/15) for third multi-goal game.
  • Netted a goal and an assist at St. John's (4/8).
  • Scored a goal at Penn State (4/1).
  • Career-best five points on career-high four goals and assist vs. Sacred Heart (3/21). Scored three goals in first quarter.
  • Had an assist at Brown (3/18).
  • Busted out for first-career hat trick vs. Harvard (3/11) and an assist for four points including first-career game-winning goal.

    AS A JUNIOR IN 2005: Reserve attackman who played in 15 of 16 games... served as an extra attackman off man-down situations... tallied first goal of the season vs. St. John's (4/9)... took a shot and picked up a groundball at Sacred Heart (3/22)... registered an assist and took two shots in the win at Hofstra (2/26).

    AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2004: Played in 12 games, starting the first two of the season...recorded three points on a goal and two assists and took seven shots... handed out an assist in a win against Manhattan (4/9)... tallied man-up goal at Penn State (4/3), his first collegiate score... scooped up a groundball against Albany (3/16)... tallied an assist and a groundball vs. Hartford (3/2).

    AS A FRESHMAN IN 2003: Played in four games... scored first career point, an assist, in win over Hartford (3/21)... recorded one shot and one groundball.

    BEFORE UMASS: Lettered for four years under John Linehan at Lower Merion High School... tallied 143 points (73 g, 70 a) during his career... was a member of the 1999 state championship squad... was named a team captain as a senior... also lettered for four years in soccer and two years in basketball.

    PERSONAL: Clayton Adler Stabert ... the son of William and Stephanie Stabert ... born Feb. 8, 1984 ... working towards a degree in BDIC (individual concentration).
