ON HENDRY: Strong defenseman who is coming off a redshirt season as he recovered from a broken fibula and tibia, suffered in the East-West All-Star Game in St. Louis prior to coming to college ... a big, intense competitor, who has a great desire to excel ... according to Cannella, the redshirt season really helped him to understand the UMass defensive scheme with four more years to play for the Minutemen ... will be a key player this season for years to come according to the coach ... has a super personality and works hard which will pay off for him in the long run ... continues to work on his stick skills and getting the ball upfield ... needs to be a little less aggressive on the corners.

AS A R-FRESHMAN IN 2007: High school All-American from Colorado, who has been a key defender in his second season in the program in 2007 ... Played in all 14 games on defense, starting three times. Also saw major time on man-down unit ... Had 10 groundballs and five caused turnovers along with an assist ... Started at Fairfield (4/24) and had two groundballs ... Played great defense against Hobart's top attack men limiting them most of the afternoon in win at Hobart (4/15) ... Started on defense against Penn State (3/31) as UMass allowed just five goals in overtime win ... Drew first collegiate start against Sacred Heart (3/20) and had two groundballs ... Recorded first college point on an assist at Harvard (3/10) on a fastbreak goal by Brett Garber in second quarter ... Made college debut at Hofstra (2/24)

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2006: As a redshirt sitting out due to injury, traveled with the team all season, but did not play in any games ... suffered a broken fibula and tibia in East-West All-Star game in St. Louis in summer before coming to UMass.

BEFORE UMASS: All-American defenseman from Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colorado ... played for coach Bryan Perry ... First Team All-State, All-Conference as a senior ... named to U-19 Colorado Lacrosse team ... named to Rocky Mountain News All-State team ... Denver Post All-State team ... as a team captain, led Bruins to the 2005 state title with a 13-2 record ... helped the Bruins to a 5.9 goals against average as they allowed more than 10 goals on just three occasions ... the Bruins reached the Colorado State semifinals his junior year ... was a Peak 200 & Top 205 All-Star ... also played for the hockey and football team.
