ON GUOBADIA: A tremendous athlete who moved from goalie to defensive midfield during his junior season ... continues to learn how to play the position after spending his career as a backstop ... tremendous friendly personality ... good attitude and real team player as demonstrated by his change of position ... strong, fast player ... played in a several key games down the stretch as a sophomore in goal and had good games ... had a great game at Rutgers when UMass clinched the ECAC Championship ... played good first half against Syracuse in the NCAA First Round.

AS A SENIOR IN 2007: Moved to defensive midfield as a senior after three years as a back-up goalie in the program ... Speedy player has seen increased minutes during the season with a short-stick playing in the midfield ... Had 17 groundballs and five caused turnovers, playing in all 14 games as a senior ... On Senior Day hustled to two groundballs vs. Syracuse (4/28) ... Great game at Fairfield (4/24) as he scooped up three groundballs and was all over the field taking two shots ... Had three groundballs at Albany (3/13)

AS A JUNIOR IN 2006: In his third year in the program, made the transition from goalie to short-stick defensive midfielder ... played in just one game, as a goalie, at Syracuse (4/29), playing final 1:54, when UMass was looking to rally.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2005: Served as back-up goalie to four-year starter Bill Schell... made six appearances with two starts... played final 12:37 of NCAA Quarterfinal at Hopkins (5/21) ... started and recorded nine saves in the NCAA first round win over Syracuse (5/15), making eight saves in the first half... named ECAC Defensive Player of the Week on May 9 after Rutgers game... made first career start at Rutgers, making 14 saves in the victory (5/7), tying the most by a UMass goalie since 2003... allowed two goals late in the fourth quarter vs. St. John's (4/9)... appeared for almost all of the fourth quarter, allowing three goals vs. Penn State (4/2)... made first appearance of the season, allowing one goal and making a save vs. Brown (3/19).

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2004: Entered two games as a reserve goalkeeper... logged 2:49 in the cage against Manhattan (4/9), facing one shot... saw 1:06 of game action and made his first collegiate save against Sacred Heart (3/23).

BEFORE UMASS: A four-year letterwinner at Baldwin H.S., where he played for Coach Rich Garguilo... posted a 22-12-1 record over his final two seasons at Baldwin, and was a team captain in his final season... played in the Nassau Exceptional Senior Game, and was an honorable mention All-American selection and All-County selection in 2003... was named team MVP... also excelled in football, rushing for eight touchdowns as a halfback and picking off four passes as a safety.
