    Evan Blum & Greg Cannella After Fairfield Win

    ON BLUM: Five-year senior ... Playing with a lot of confidence after a great fall ... Lefty, shoots the ball really well on the run and has good vision ... "A guy that we're going to count on if we're going to be successful," Coach Cannella said. "We need him to score in close to 20 goals"... Has good size and ability ... Has a good feel for the game ... Great ability and upside.

  • AS A SENIOR IN 2009:
    • Redshirt senior midfielder who took on an increased role in his fifth season in the program.
    • In 15 games, his 22 points ranked fourth on the team. Had 14 goals (third on team) and eight assists (second on team).
    • Had seven multi-point games on the season; he had one in his first three seasons combined.
    • Had points in 11 of 15 games on the season.
    • In NCAA First Round at #4 Princeton (5/10), equalled career-high with three points on a goal and career-high tying two assists.
    • Five goals in two games best stretch of career (4/18-21).
    • First career hat trick at Fairfield (4/21) including game-winning goal.
    • On Senior Day, scored twice including tying goal to cap comeback making it 6-6 on a incredible angle vs. Georgetown (4/18).

    • Netted go-ahead goal in win at #12 Loyola (3/21), UMass never trailed after his goal gave team a 2-1 lead in first.

    • Dished an assist, had first groundball season, and one penalty at Albany (3/10).
    • Had two shots at #11 Harvard (3/7).
    • Tallied a goal and assist vs. Yale (2/28). Assist came on pretty pass setting up Tim Balise for UMass' first of 18 goals against the Bulldogs.
    • Tied a career-high (set a week earlier) with two goals and three points at Hofstra (2/21).
    • Set a career-high with two goals and three points in season-opening win vs. Sacred Heart (2/14).

    AS A R-JUNIOR IN 2008: Returned to midfield after converting to attack as a sophomore. Ran on the first midfield line ... Finished the season with 10 points (seven goals and three assists) on 52 shots ... The point total was good for the fifth most on the Minutemen while goals were fourth most ...
