Pond Club Announces Golf Outing Date, Call For Board Nominations

The UMass hockey program and the Pond Club have announced that this year's Pond Club golf outing is set for Friday, Aug. 23, and will be held in conjunction with UMass Hockey Alumni Weekend. UMass Hockey Alumni Playoff Update

Over Memorial Day weekend, UMass hockey alumni Alex Berry and T.J. Syner won a championship, while last night former Minuteman netminder Jonathan Quick led the Los Angeles Kings past the San Jose Sharks in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Two former UMass blueliners, Justin Braun and Matt Irwin, helped the Sharks take the defensive-minded series against the defending Stanley Cup Champions to the full seven games. MORE

UMass Hockey Adds Miller As Assistant Coach

Ryan Miller, former head coach at Culver Military Academy, has joined the UMass hockey staff, head coach John Micheletto announced on Tuesday. Miller, a 2003 graduate of the University of Vermont, will begin his first season as an assistant coach for the Minutemen in 2013-14. MORE

Marc Hetnik Joins UMass Hockey Program

Marc Hetnik, a 6-3, 180-pound defenseman from Brookline, Mass., has joined the UMass hockey program as a member of the Class of 2017, head coach John Micheletto announced on Monday. Hetnik spent the last two seasons for the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) after finishing his career at Catholic Memorial in West Roxbury in 2011. MORE

Pair Of UMass Alumni Playing For Kelly Cup Championship

UMass hockey alumni Alex Berry and T.J. Syner will look to continue the recent string of championships won at the professional level by former Minutemen as the pair will open the Kelly Cup Finals on Saturday night, May 18, with the Reading Royals against the Stockton Thunder. MORE
