No. 16 UMass Tangles With No. 6 BC: Come For The Mullets, Stay For The Football!
Dec. 7, 2006 AMHERST, Mass. - This weekend marks another battle of the Commonwealth as No. 16 UMass takes on No. 6 Boston College in a home-and-home series. Friday's game will be played in Amherst, and fans will have the chance to watch Minuteman Football take on Montana in the NCAA playoffs. The game will be played on the video boards between periods as well as after the conclusion of the hockey game, so all are welcome to stay and watch in the comfort of the Mullins Center! The Eagles are coming off of a thrilling 1-0 victory against archrival Boston University last Saturday, while the Minutemen look to return to the win column after being shutout 3-0 at Merrimack on Tuesday.
The game will be the final opportunity to see your Minutemen at home in 2006. UMass closes out the first half of the season at BC on Saturday before the holiday break. It returns to action Dec. 29 and 30 at the Dodge Holiday Classic, hosted by the nation's current No. 1 team: the University of Minnesota. The Mass Attack faces Ferris State in the early game on Friday and will either face Alabama-Huntsville or the host Golden Gophers the following night. Hockey returns to the Mullins Center on Saturday, January 6 vs. Merrimack.
