Ice Hockey Signs Four Players

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts head hockey coach Don "Toot" Cahoon has announced that four players have signed national letters of intent to join the Minutemen in the 2004-05 season. Two of the players that have signed are local players.
"We think these players have good puck skills and hockey intelligence," said Cahoon, who recently coached his 500th career game. "These players whould really complement our team and continue our progress towards becoming a nationally-known program. We are very excited about these players we are bringing into our program, and each of these players were recruited by several school. They wanted to come to UMass and we are delighted with their decision."

David Leaderer; 6-0, 185, Defenseman; Rochester, N.Y.; Boston Jr. Bruins (EJHL)
Michael Kostka; 6-3, 200, Defenseman; Ajax, Ontario; Aurora Tigers (OPJHL)
P.J. Fenton; 6-0, 185, Forward; Longmeadow, Mass.; New England Junior Coyotes (EJHL)
Matt Burto; 5-9, 180, Forward; Orange, Ct.; Boston Jr. Bruins (EJHL)
