BOSTON - With the start of the college hockey season just weeks away, Hockey East held its annual Media Day event at the TD Garden in Boston. First-year UMass head coach John Micheletto was on hand for the event and spoke with the media. Among the day's announcements were the league's composite television schedule as well as the preseason coaches poll.

Boston College was picked as the preseason favorite in the poll, while UMass was selected ninth. The Minutemen are set to open their 2012-13 campaign two weeks from Friday, Oct. 12, at home vs. Connecticut.
