Then with its second power-play goal of the night, Colgate pulled in front, 3-2 with 10 minutes to go in the final period. Amidst traffic in front, Tyson Spink tapped in the puck at the doorstep.
The Raiders then went on to add insurance tallies at 13:31 and 15:52 by Billy Rivellini and Bartliff, respectively.
The Minutemen out-shot Colgate, 33-23 and won 31 of 57 faceoffs. Spencer Finney stopped 31 in net for the Raiders, while Boyle finished with 18 saves. On the power play, UMass was 1-for-4, while Colgate converted two of its four opportunities.
