NU's second power play goal of the game opened up the second, with Judy taking his second goal of the game at 1:14 for the 4-1 lead.

Massachusetts brought it back to within two with Werner's third goal in three games. Degon faked a shot and passed it to Lang, who shot it in on Keni Gibson. The rebound came out to Werner, who netted his team-leading 14th goal of the season.

Degon turned around and made it a 4-3 game at 11:22 with his 10th goal of the season and second point of the game. Rookie P.J. Fenton (Longmeadow, Mass.) broke a four-game scoreless streak with an assist on the tally, while Kevin Jarman (Aurora, Ont.) also assisted on the goal. The one-goal NU lead stood through the remainder of the period.

Northeastern regained its two goal lead with Guerriero's second goal of the game at 7:49, assisted by Russo and Morris. Russo added a goal just over three minutes later and Morris made it a 7-3 game at 12:14.

Tim Warner (Waltham, Mass.) relieved Gabe Winer (Stoughton, Mass.) at that point, and made 3 saves in the remainder of the contest, giving up one goal at 19:50. Winer made 19 saves in net through 52:14.
