Equipment Manager

Josh Penn enters his 11th season as the equipment manager for the Minutemen hockey team in 2015-16. He is involved with all athletic equipment purchasing, reconditioning, uniform sizing, maintenance and inventory control. In addition, he oversees all game day preparations for equipment and locker room facilities for all home and away contests. He is a certified equipment manager and has been a member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers (SPHEM) since 1998 and is also a member of the Athletic Equipment Managers' Association (AEMA).

Prior to UMass, Penn was the assistant equipment manager for the New Jersey Devils since 2003. He has been the head equipment manager for the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL (2001-2003), the Detroit Vipers of the IHL (2000-01) and the Florida Everblades of the ECHL (1998-2000).

During the summer of 2003, Penn worked for the USA Hockey National Junior training camp. The U-20 team went on to win the 2004 World Junior Hockey Championship.

A 1998 graduate of Union College (B.A. economics), Penn worked with the Dutchmen hockey team for three seasons.

Penn and his wife, Jasmine, live in Hadley with their two dogs, Teddy and Bo.
