AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2002-03:
A relentless worker on and off the ice, Mauldin appeared in 36 games for the Minutemen... Led the team in scoring for the second straight season with 41 points (21 g, 20 a)... Named a Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star... UMass' first-ever finalist for the Walter Brown Award... Became the first UMass player since 1996-97 to tally 40 points in a season, and his 41 points were the fifth most since UMass joined Hockey East in 1994-95... Was a finalist for Hockey East Player of the Year, and finished seventh in the ITECH Three Stars of the Game award... Started the season slow, scoring only six points in the first 10 games... Exploded late in the year, tallying 35 points in the last 27 games... Had a three-game stretch where he scored three points in each game (11/30 - 12/6)... Named Hockey East Player of the Week twice (12/2 & 1/27)... Selected as a runner-up for Hockey East Player of the Month in January... Named Dinn Brothers / UMass Athlete of the Week on Dec. 4... Named to the Hockey East weekly Honor Roll four times... Already ranks 22nd on the school's all-time scoring list with 65 points... AS A FRESHMAN IN 2001-02:
Played in 33 of the team's 34 games... Led the team in scoring with 24 points on 12 goals and 12 assists... Became the first freshman to lead Massachusetts in scoring since Rob Bonneau and Warren Norris tied for the team lead in 1993-94... Was first on the team in goals (12), shots (111), shorthanded goals (two) and Hockey East points (16)... Was second on the team in assists (12) and power play goals (three)... Had a shot on net in 31 of the 33 games he played... Scored his first career goal, which was the eventual game-winner, and added an assist in the 4-2 victory over Northeastern (10/28)... Had two goals, including one shorthanded, and an assist in the 6-5 victory over Connecticut (11/11)... Recorded three assists against Boston College (1/7)... Scored a pair of goals against Boston University (2/8)... Netted a goal and an assist against RPI (12/29) in the finals of the Rensselaer/HSBC Holiday Tournament... Had a goal and an assist against Merrimack in two different games (1/11 & 3/3)... Fell two games short of the UMass Division I record for most consecutive games with a point when his streak ended at seven on Jan. 18... Had 11 points during the seven-game streak.

BEFORE THE UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS:
Played two seasons for Peter Masters with the Boston Jr. Bruins in the Eastern Junior Hockey League... Led the team with 48 goals and 58 assists for 106 points in 53 games in 2000-01... Named EJHL MVP in 2000-01... Also named the Hockey Night in Boston Offensive and Junior MVPÉ Two-time EJHL first team All-Star... Named team MVP of the Jr. Bruins in both his seasons... Finished his Jr. Bruins career with 93 goals and 100 assists for 193 points in 111 games... Played for the Massachusetts All-Star team that won the HNIB championship in 1999-00... Two-time HNIB All-Scholastic... Played two seasons for Peter Torelli at Holliston High School... Named team MVP as a sophomore... Also named a MetroWest News All-Scholastic and Tri-Valley League All-Star... Played football and ran track in high school.
