Blanchflower, Dima, Johnson Named To Phil Steele Preseason All-MAC Teams

Three UMass football standouts were recognized by Phil Steele's 2013 College Football Preview with Preseason All-Mid-American Conference honors. Tight end Rob Blanchflower led the trio with a spot on the offensive third team. Lineman Anthony Dima and punter Colter Johnson were selected to the fourth team on offense and special teams, respectively. MORE

UMass Football Women's Clinic Postponed Due To Weather

Due to forecasted inclement weather at Gillette Stadium, Friday's first annual UMass Football Women's Clinic will be postponed. A rescheduled date has not been announced at this time. The first of its kind in New England, the clinic will provide an opportunity to women to meet the UMass coaching staff, see what goes on behind the scenes, learn more about the game of football and get to hone their skills on the field by participating in practice sessions. The University of Massachusetts football team will open the 2013 season on national television through the Big Ten Network when it travels to Wisconsin for a Noon ET game on Saturday, Aug. 31. New UMass Football Press And Skybox Complex To Be Named In Honor Of Martin & Richard Jacobson

University of Massachusetts Director of Athletics John McCutcheon has announced today that the new UMass Football Press and Skybox Complex at McGuirk Alumni Stadium will be named in honor of Martin & Richard Jacobson. Martin (Marty) Jacobson committed $2.5 million to the University on Monday afternoon in a ceremony featuring UMass Chancellor Kumble R. Subbaswamy, Athletics Director John McCutcheon, and Head Football Coach Charley Molnar. MORE

Maryland Defensive End Justin Anderson Joins UMass Football

UMass football head coach Charley Molnar has announced the addition of former Maryland defensive end Justin Anderson for the 2013 season. Anderson graduated from Maryland this spring and will be immediately eligible to play as a graduate student at UMass. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound lineman played in 25 games for the Terps including all 13 as a starter in 2010. MORE
