AMHERST, Mass. - In honor of the UMass football team's pledge to support the White Ribbon Campaign to prevent violence against women, the Minutemen will wear white uniforms on Saturday against Akron. Additionally, for the final three games of the season, UMass will wear white ribbon stickers on the back of their helmets.

UMass senior defensive tackle Galen Clemons led the football team in taking the White Ribbon Campaign pledge this past Wednesday. Clemons organized the event with help from professor Tom Schiff. UMass Chancellor Kumble Subbaswamy was also present to speak to the team on the importance of the event and in helping bring about social change in the world.

Fans are encouraged to wear white on Saturday afternoon at Gillette Stadium to show support for the campaign as well.

You can see the entire White Ribbon Campaign Pledge video below. A complete package along with interviews will be aired in an upcoming episode of the UMass Sports Insider.
