Holmes Named FCS Linebacker Of Week

AMHERST, Mass. Buchanan Award candidate Tyler Holmes was named the FCS National Linebacker of the Week by College Football Performance. The junior captain racked up 18 tackles, had three TFLs and a sack in the 27-14 win at Towson. Holmes is averaging 10 tackles per game including 1.60 TFLs per game in 2010.
He was also named co-UMass Athlete of the Week on Monday, sharing the award with field hockey goalie Alesha Widdall. He also leads the CAA in interceptions with three. Holmes ranks second in the league in TFLs and third in tackles.
