AMHERST, Mass. - Senior wide receiver Jesse Julmiste was honored on Monday as the College Football Performance Awards National Kickoff Returner of the Week after his efforts at Boston College on Saturday. Julmiste set a new UMass record with seven returns for 252 yards including a 100-yard return for a score. UMass will return to action this Saturday at Old Dominion (7 PM).

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native's 100-yard return was only the fifth 100-yard or more kickoff return in school history. The previous record for kickoff return yards in a game was 200 set in 1973 against Rhode Island by Tim Berra. Julmiste's performance on Saturday nearly equaled his total kickoff yardage from 2010 (300), gives him 632 return yards for his career and places him just 152 yards shy of cracking the program's career top-10 list for kick returners.
