Football To Host Open Practices For Fans At McGuirk Alumni Stadium

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts football team will host a full slate of practices open to the public beginning with the week of Monday, Aug. 12. The Minutemen will be at McGuirk Alumni Stadium for each, with two practices each on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45-10:45 a.m. and 3:15-5:15 p.m. On Tuesday and Thursday, UMass football will train from 9 a.m. until Noon.

Practices will remain open for fans through Sunday, Aug. 25. Parking for fans interested in viewing practice is available in the south end zone lot. Those in attendance are asked to sit in the stands and avoid any areas containing on-going construction.

The Minutemen are gearing up for their second season competing at the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level and open the 2013 campaign at Wisconsin on Saturday, Aug. 31. UMass will host regional rival Maine for its home-opening contest at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m.

Fans can purchase single-game or season tickets from the UMass Ticket Office at 866-UMASS-TIX (866-862-7784) while additional information and purchasing options are available through UMassAthletics.com/tickets.
