Fans Invited To Football's Night Of Champions Strength Competition

AMHERST, Mass. - Fans, students and alumni are invited to join the UMass football team on Wednesday, March 13 at 7 PM in the Curry Hicks Cage for the Minutemen's Night of Champions. The event is free and will treat those in attendance to a strength competition by members of the team, a Tug-Of-War Competition, and what promises to be an exciting Slam Dunk Contest.
Along with the competitions, fans will be treated to music, prizes, and the chance to get autographs from the players and coaching staff. Prior to the start of the event, new strength and conditioning coach Mike Golden will be available for a question and answer session.
At 7 PM, select members of the team will attempt to break school and personal records in the bench press, power clean, squat and vertical jump.
The Slam Dunk Competition will be a first of its kind for the Minutemen with Khary Bailey-Smith one of the early favorites. Prior to college, Bailey-Smith was a standout on the track team as a 7-foot high jumper in high school.
Another fan favorite event will be an obstacle course which will feature members of UMass fraternities and sororities paired with the players as the compete in an obstacle course for ultimate bragging rights!
