Four Minutemen Named ECAC All-Stars
Jan. 9, 2008
CAPE COD, Mass. - Four Minutemen football players were named ECAC I-AA All-Stars. Offensive lineman Matt Austin and wide receiver JJ Moore were named to the first team offense, while line backer Jason Hatchell and defensive lineman David Burris were named to the first team defense. Massachusetts led all teams with four players selected to the all-star team. The Eastern College Athletic Conference will honor the players at the annual Easter College Football Awards Banquet, presented by FieldTurf Tarkett. This event will be held at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This is the second consecutive year that senior captain Matt Austin has earned a spot on the ECAC first team. Burris finished sixth all-time at UMass with 23.0 career sacks. Hatchell also finished sixth all-time at UMass with 360 career tackles. Moore finished his career with over 2,000 receiving yards, the fourth player in UMass history ever to do so. Here is a complete list of the ECAC All-Stars: 2007 ECAC Division I-AA All-Stars
