Football Upsets Rhode Island 24-7

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Matt Guice passed for two touchdowns to lead Massachusetts to a 24-7 victory over Rhode Island on Saturday.
Guice threw for scores in the first and third quarters as Massachusetts improved to 3-7 overall and 3-5 in the Atlantic 10.
It was the third straight loss for Rhode Island (7-3, 5-3).
Massachusetts led 17-7 at halftime, then drove 73 yards in the third quarter to seal the win. Guice passed 19 yards to Adonis Kinsey for the only touchdown in the second half.
Guice completed 14 of 25 passes for 175 yards.
The Minutemen scored at 9:40 of the first quarter, ending a 53-yard, five-play drive with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Guice to Omari Howard.
Massachusetts made it 14-0 early in the second quarter, thanks to a fumble recovery on the Rhode Island 1-yard line. DeShon Hardy scored on the next play.
Rhode Island got its only touchdown on a David Jamison 16-yard run through
the middle. Jamison finished with 103 yards on 24 carries.
