AMHERST, Mass. - Tony Nelson gained 100 yards in a game for the third time this season and 10th time in his career with 116 yards.

Nelson scored three touchdowns in a game for the second time in his career. He also did it against William & Mary in 2006 as a freshman. Nelson had his fifth-career multi-touchdown game.

Nelson also moved to a tie for sixth in career rushing touchdowns with 21 TDs. He is tied with Kevin Smellie (1985-88) with 21.

Nelson moved to seventh in career rushes with 20 in the game. He now has 498. He passed Greg Landry (485) in the game. Next on the list is Frank Alessio (512).

Armando Cuko kicked three field goals to give him 18 this season to set a new UMass single-season record. He passed Chris Koepplin (2006) and Sandro Vitiello (1978), who held the record with 16.

Cuko also moved to a tie for first in career field goals list and now has 30. He stands tied with Silvio Bonvini (1985-88), who also made 30.

Victor Cruz scored his 11th career receiving touchdown, to tie for 12th in career receiving scores, with Jeremy Horne, Steve Schubert and Milt Morin.

James Carven had the first interception of his career, in the fourth quarter.

UMass is now 5-0 at home this season and has won 24 of its last 26 home games dating to 2004.
