It was also UMass' fifth-ever game against a defending NCAA Champion and UMass is now 1-4. Scott Woodward passed for his second-career touchdown on a 20-yard pass to Victor Cruz in the fourth quarter. UMass had its first safety of the season and first since a 2007 tackle in the end zone by Kyle Harrington at Rhode Island. Tyler Holmes had a career-high 17tackles and his fourth-career interception (third this season). He also had a career-high four TFLs. Holmes had his fourth-career double-figure tackle game. Eric Dickson had double-figure tackle game for the second week in a row with 10. Armando Cuko kicked his 15th field goal of the season to move to third all alone on the single-season list. The record of 16 is held by both Chris Koepplin and Sandro Vitiello. It was Cuko's 27th career made field goal to move him to a tie for third all-time at UMass with Koepplin and Doug White. The record of 30 is held by Silvio Bonvini.
