MInutemen Topple James Madison, 43-20

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Matt Guice passed for 332 yards and five touchdowns Saturday to lead Massachusetts to a 43-20 victory over James Madison.
Guice, a redshirt freshman, completed 23 of 47 attempts and threw one interception that resulted in a 37-yard return for a touchdown by Dennard Melton that gave James Madison (1-6, 0-6 Atlantic 10) a 7-0 lead less than three minutes into the game.
UMass (1-5, 1-3) led 27-20 at halftime and, led by its defense, pulled away in the second half.
Guice threw a 29-yard scoring pass to to Jason Peebler to cap an 80-yard drive on the Minutemen's first possession of the second half.
Doug White kicked a 32-yard field goal and Omari Howard scored on a 9-yard run for the final score.
After Melton's interception return, Guice threw first-half touchdown passes of 9 yards to Neal Brown, 14 and 22 yards to Adonis Kinsey, and 34 yards to Sean Young.
Matt LeZotte threw a 66-yard touchdown pass to Brannon Goins and Burke
George kicked field goals of 34 and 45 yards for James Madison.
