Final Stats

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Sam Postlethwait passed for a career-high 169 yards and two touchdowns and Antawn Jenkins rushed for a career-high 108 yards as Delaware defeated the University of Massachusetts 35-7 Saturday night.

The Blue Hens (1-2, 1-1 Atlantic 10) gained 445 total yards and held the Minutemen (0-3, 0-1) to 282 total yards.

Massachusetts lost four fumbles, had two passes intercepted, committed nine penalties for 81 yards and turned the ball over on punt attempts twice.

The Hens scored two touchdowns from Jamin Elliott, who caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Sam Postlethwait and scored on an 11-yard reverse. Postlethwait tossed a career-long 59-yard touchdown strike to Brett Veach to tie the score at 7-7 with 3:42 left in the first.

The Hens made it 21-7 on Jenkins' seven-yard run with 12:36 left before the half.

Delaware made it 28-7 in the third when Darrell Edmonds scooped a fumble by Guice and ran 37 yards for a TD. Elliott capped the scoring with his 11-yard run off a reverse with 8:36 remaining.
