UMass At #17 Michigan Postgame Notes

Michael Cox and Galen Clemons served as game captains. Cox played at Michigan for three years before graduation last spring and enrolling in graduate school at UMass. Clemons played a season at Central Michigan before transferring to UMass prior to the 2011 season.
UMass won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half.
The crowd of 110,708 marked the largest attendance to ever see a UMass football game. The previous mark was 110,187 set in 2010 the last time UMass played at Michigan.
The UMass defense forced an interception marking the third straight game the Minutemen have forced a turnover. For the year, UMass has forced five turnovers (4 INT, 1 FR), while allowing one (INT).
UMass' fumble lost on a punt return marked the first fumble of the season. UMass had an interception in the UConn game and now has two turnovers on the year.
Brendon Levengood hit field goals of 25 and 32 yards. The two made field goals tied his career high of two which he did against Central Connecticut on Oct. 8, 2011.
Deion Walker had 4 receptions for a career-best 63 yards.
Alan Williams had a career-best 6 receptions for 38 yards
Michael Cox had a season-best 76 yards on 18 carries in his return to Michigan.
Right tackle Anthony Dima returned to the starting line-up after missing the UConn and Indiana games; He has started in 12 career games at UMass after transferring prior to 2011 from Hofstra.
Strong safety Christian Birt also returned to the starting line-up after missing the UConn and Indiana games; He has started in 3 career games.
Christian Birt's interception was the second of his career; the return for the touchdown marked his first collegiate score.
Tom Brandt had a career-high 8 tackles including 5 solo, one for a loss and one TFL.
