AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - R.J. Cobbs ran for 158 yards and three touchdowns and Raunny Rosario added 102 yards and a touchdown Saturday to lead Massachusetts to a 42-13 win over American International.

The Minutemen (2-0) led 35-13 at halftime and only scored once in the second half, on a 10-yard run by Cobbs that capped a 92-yard drive.

Jeff Krohn completed 20 of 33 pass attempts for 293 yards and two touchdowns.

Rosario scored on a 34-yard run and DeShon Hardy caught a 7-yard scoring pass from Krohn in the first quarter.

Cobbs scored on runs of 2 and 17-yards in the second quarter.

The UMass defense sacked American International quarterback Tom Guy a school-record tying 11 times, but Guy still completed 26 of 49 passes for 422 yards and two touchdowns.

American International (1-1) made it 22-7 midway through the second quarter when Guy threw a 13-yard scoring pass to Keith Lessner. Lessner had 10 receptions for 209 yards.

Guy hit Tory Brown with a 7-yard scoring pass with six seconds to play in the first half.
