Post Game Notes

* UMass captains: #1 Tajae Sharpe, #4 Randall Jette, #7 Blake Frohnapfel and #35 Stanley Andre; UMass won the toss and chose to receive the opening kickoff.
* 1,500 members of the UMass Amherst Class of 2018 led the team onto the field.

* Today's attendance of 30,479 is a school record for a UMass home game. It is the second-largest crowd for a UMass game at Gillette Stadium - 32,848 against New Hampshire in 2010 (UNH was the home team).

* UMass QB Blake Frohnapfel made his first start in his first game at UMass, throwing for 147 yards on 9-of-22 with a TD and interception. He was sacked three times.

* Freshman RB J.T. Blyden was UMass' leading rusher, carrying nine times for 43 yards and a long of 14.

* Junior WR Tajae Sharpe caught two balls for 90 yards, including a career-long 77-yard TD catch in the third quarter. He now has 83 receptions for 976 career yards and five TDs in his career.

* Junior LB Jovan Santos-Know led all players with 15 tackles - a career high. He also had a pass break up.

* Junior DB Joe Colton had a career-high 13 tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass break up.

* Redshirt junior DB Randall Jette's interception late in the second quarter was the fourth of his career. He had two in 2012 and one last season. Jette tied his career-high with seven tackles, including five solos.

* The 77-yard TD completion was the longest pass play of 70-yards or more since Oct 25, 2008 - an 80 yard pass from current UMass QB coach Liam Coen to Matt Silver against Bryant. The 77-yard pass is tied for the 9th-longest in UMass history.
