Played for the Irish from 2008-11 taking a redshirt season in 2008 ... Is eligible to play at UMass without sitting out per NCAA rules ... Played in 24 career games at Notre Dame from 2009-11 where he posted 19 tackles as a nose guard ... In 2011, played in five games with eight tackles including 1.5 for loss ... In 2010, played in 13 games with 11 total tackles ... Played 244 snaps on defense which was the fifth-most of any defensive lineman at Notre Dame ... Did not see game action in 2009 and redshirted the 2008 season as a true freshman ... Earned first-team New Jersey all-state honors as an offensive lineman at Elizabeth High School ...
