The UMass Football Team had special tributes to the victims of the Boston Marathon Attacks on Saturday, April 20, including special jerseys dedicated to those who died. Additionally, at halftime, runners who were unable to finish the Marathon were invited to 'Cross The Finish Line' as the Minutemen and fans cheered them on.
Check out the sights and sounds as the Minutemen held their eighth practice of the Spring at Gillette Stadium's Dana-Farber Field House. Prior to the practice, UMass held a Youth Clinic with over 130 kids in attendance.
As a redshirt junior in 2012:Game-By-Game Statistics Played and started in 10 games at tight end ... Caught 43 passes for 464 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 46.4 yards per game ... Had ten catches for 100 yards and a touchdown vs. Central Michigan (11/23) earning him UMass Athlete of the Week honors... Made five receptions for 80 yards vs. Ohio (9/29) ... Did not play at Western Michigan (10/6) due to injury.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2011: Game-By-Game Statistics Saw action in 11 games, starting eight ... Made 18 catches for 208 yards with one touchdown ... Averaged 11.6 yards per catch and 18.9 per game ... Ranked sixth on the squad in all-purpose yards (208) ... Had two receptions vs. James Madison (11/19), one of which went for a TD, and finished with a season-high 37 yards ... Logged two catches at Delaware (10/15) for 31 yards ... Made a season-high three catches vs. Central Connecticut (10/8) for a total of 34 yards.
As a redshirt freshman in 2010:Game-By-Game Statistics Back-up redshirt freshman tight end expected to make major impact over course of his career ... Played all 11 games with four starts, making 21 catches for 179 yards with three touchdowns ... Caught a 5-yard touchdown as part of three catches for 11 yards vs. #2 Delaware (11/13) ... Career-best five catches for a career-high 61 yards, with a 22 yard long reception against Maine (11/6) ... Career-high four catches for 23 yards at #15 James Madison (10/30) ... Set new career-highs with three catches for 31 yards vs. #10 New Hampshire (10/23) in Colonial Clash, scored second-career touchdown as he fell on a fumble in the end zone for a score ... One catch for 12 yards at Michigan (9/18) ... Career-best three catches for 17 yards at Holy Cross (9/11), scored first-career touchdown on a 3-yard reception ... First-career catch vs. William & Mary (9/4), for nine yards.
As a freshman in 2009:Redshirt season, worked with scout team as a tight end.
Before UMass:Played four seasons at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, Mass. under Coach John Andreoli ... Was a senior captain, playing defensive end and tight end ... Was named to the All-State Super-26 Football team while also earning Central Mass DI North Defensive co-MVP, Telegram & Gazette Super Team All-Star honors as a senior ... Finished his senior season with 32 tackles and eight sacks on defense while adding two touchdowns on 110 receiving yards on offense ...Was an honor roll student at St. John's.
