Neal Brown is entering his first season on Mark Whipple?s coaching staff, where he will serve as a graduate assistant.

Brown is a 2002 UMass graduate, with a bachelor?s degree in management. He earned two letters as a wide receiver for the Minutemen in 2001 and 2002, catching 58 passes for 721 yards and four touchdowns, while being named to the Academic All-Atlantic 10 team and the Division I-AA Athletic Directors Academic All-Star team as a senior. Brown transferred to UMass in the summer of 2001 from the University of Kentucky, where he caught 10 passes for 48 yards and a score during his first two seasons of collegiate competition.

A native of Danville, Ky., Brown is single and resides in Amherst.
