Before UMass: Four-year letterwinner for Armond Columbo at Brockton High School ? Two-year starter at safety ? First team All-Conference performer as a senior, posting 115 total tackles with six sacks and one interception ? Earned his team?s Golden Helmet Award, given to the Most Valuable Player ? Also an excellent track athlete ? Finished second at the state Class A meet in the 200 meters with a time of 22.3 seconds ? All-Scholastic pick in football, indoor track and outdoor track by the Boston Globe in his senior year ? Earned first team All-New England honors in outdoor track as a senior ?
