AMHERST, Mass. - UMass senior forward Stephane Lasme was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and UMass Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 25. Lasme posted the second triple-double in UMass history vs. St. Francis as he had a school-record 11 blocked shots. For the week, he averaged 12.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 5.7 blocks in a 3-0 week for the Minutemen.

After posting seven points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks in a 79-56 win over Northeastern on Nov. 19, Lasme recorded the second triple-double in UMass history with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and a school-record (and A-10 record-tying) 11 blocked shots in a 63-49 win over St. Francis (NY) on Nov. 22. It was the first triple-double at UMass since 1973 and the first in the A-10 since the 2004-05 season. The only previous UMass triple-double was accomplished by Al Skinner when he had 28 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists against St. Peter's on Dec. 28, 1973. Lasme ended the week with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks in a 100-69 win at Jacksonville State on Nov. 25. He shot 59.1 percent from the floor (13-22) for the week.

It is the second time Lasme has been named an A-10 Player of the Week. He also earned the honor on Jan. 1, 2006.

Lasme will be honored at the UMass Sports Luncheon next Wednesday, December 6 at Noon. The luncheon will be held in the Cape Cod Room. Guest speakers will be Football Coach Don Brown and Ice Hockey Coach Don "Toot" Cahoon.
