Lasme Makes NBA Debut For Warriors On Thursday Night
Nov. 9, 2007
OAKLAND, Calif. - Former UMass star Stephane Lasme made his regular-season NBA debut Thursday night in the Warriors 120-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Lasme became the sixth UMass alum to play in the NBA joining current Denver Nugget Marcus Camby as the only two active former Minutemen. Lasme played the final 3.8 seconds of the first half as a defensive replacement.
Lasme made the opening day roster but has been a DNP or inactive for Golden State's first four games.
Lasme was a second-round draft pick by the Warriors in 2007 after being named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. He was an AP Honorable Mention All-American after finishing in the top 20 nationally in three statistics (blocks, rebounds, field goal percentage).
Lasme is the sixth former UMass player to play in the NBA or ABA.
