Coach Kellogg's Invite To Students For Super Sunday
Oct. 28, 2009
Are you excited for the start of the basketball season? Well, I am totally pumped up for the season to begin. We have been hard at practice since Oct. 16 trying to build a UMass team that you will all be proud of.
This coming Sunday, I want to invite all of you to come over to the Mullins Center for our UMass Basketball "Super Sunday" at 3 p.m. This will be a great opportunity to come out and see your team for the first time this year and as a bonus all students will get free pizza with your student ID card.
We've got a lot of new faces on the team this year and a few familiar ones. Ricky Harris our lone senior has been named to the First Team of the Atlantic 10 Conference while our five new freshmen have been named one of the top classes in the nation. Come on out and meet the team and see what the future holds for your Minutemen.
Students are the lifeblood of every college basketball program and you guys are very important to the success of the basketball team. As a former UMass basketball player in the mid 1990s, I can't tell you how important it was to have the Mullins Center packed with students to pump us up for the games. I have been at the hockey and football games where 4,000 students are screaming and supporting the Minutemen and look at the results so far!
I love coaching this team and really believe you will love watching them play. We hope that you will come out for "Super Sunday" and then when the regular-season gets underway at the Mullins Center on Wednesday, Nov. 18 as we take on Cornell in the Legends Classic at 7:30 p.m.
See you Sunday!!!
