AMHERST, Mass. - The UMass Athletic Department is proud to invite all fans to join us for a Tip-Off Party at Klub Kellogg on Oct. 17 as the UMass basketball teams begin the 2008-09 season with a rockin event at the Curry-Hicks Cage. The doors will open at 6 p.m., followed by the men's and women's teams hitting the floor at 7 p.m. The night will feature music and entertainment by Groove Boston, which will hold a dance party at 10 p.m. at the Cage.

The Cage will be turned into a dance club for the night-long event. There will be plenty of giveaways including T-shirts, prize packs and gift cards.

Both UMass teams will be introduced amidst the excitement. The men's team will hold a slam dunk contest and both the teams will participate in a 3-point shooting contest. The basketball festivities should conclude around 8:30 p.m., making way for the dance party, sponsored by the University Program Council, which will get underway at 10 p.m.
