UMass To Appear On National Television A Minimum Of 14 Times With Announcement Of 2013-14 Atlantic 10 Conference Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its 2013-14 schedule and national television package with CBS Sports, NBC Sports and ESPN, on Thursday, and Massachusetts collected eight appearances in its 16 league contests.
The Minutemen are already guaranteed six televised non-conference games throughpreviously announced arrangements, and are now slated for a total of 14 during the upcoming season. There is also a possibility for additional games to beadded at a later date.
After opening A-10 play on the road the past two seasons, UMass will host Saint Joseph's on Jan. 8 before welcoming St. Bonaventure and an NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) audience to the Mullins Center for a 12:30 tip on Jan. 11.
The Minutemen will open a three-game road trip, beginning at George Mason on Jan. 15 before stepping out of A-10 play for a game at Elon on Jan. 18. The trekconcludes at Richmond the following Wednesday in a renovated Robins Center on Jan. 22.
The conference's two Empire State schools are up next as UMass hosts Fordham on Sunday, Jan. 26 on the NBCSN before completing the first of its four-home-and-home series with a trip to St. Bonaventure on Jan. 29.
UMass will get a heavy dose of airtime on CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) to open February as it will play three-consecutive on the largest carrier of A-10 games - at Saint Joseph's on Feb. 1, at home versus La Salle on Feb. 5 and at Rhode Island on Sunday, Feb. 9.
The Minutemen will unwrap the week of Valentine's Day at George Mason on Feb. 12 and a visit from George Washington on Feb. 15.
UMass and VCU - who last met in the 2013 A-10 Championship Semifinals - each have a midweek bye before playing the 12th game of the league ledger on Friday, Feb. 21 in front an ESPN television audience.
February comes to a close for the Maroon and White with a visit from URI on Feb. 26 before traveling to Dayton for a Saturday morning matchup on ESPNU on March 1.
The Minutemen will travel to fellow league founder Duquesne on March 5 before concluding the regular-season at home with defending league champion Saint Louis before a CBSSN audience on Sunday, March 9.
All 13 teams will advance to the 2014 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. There will be an opening round game Wednesday, March 12. First round games will be played Thursday, March 13. The winners of those four games will advance to the quarterfinal round, which will be produced by NBC Sports Network on Friday, March 14. Semifinal games will be played on CBS Sports Network on Saturday, March 15 and the finals on NCAA Selection Sunday, March 16 at 1:00 p.m., which will air live on CBS Sports.
The three mediapartners combine for over 200 million subscribers total subscribers nationwide. Atlantic 10 institutions reside in markets that comprise 32 million television viewers, 28 percent of the total national market. There are seven A-10 institutions in the top 25 media markets in the country
