Stephane Lasme Signs Second 10-Day Contract With Heat

March 31, 2008

AMHERST, Mass. - Stephane Lasme inked his second 10-day contract with the Miami Heat, the team announced on Monday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wearing no. 45, Lasme will join the Heat Monday in Indiana to take on the Pacers in the Conseco Fieldhouse. Lasme's first call-up came on March 21 of this season. In six games with the Heat, he has averaged 21.5 minutes, 5.3 points, and 3.1 rebounds.

The 6'8", 215-pound forward was the 2006-07 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year as well as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, the first time a Minuteman had won both since Marcus Camby.

With UMass in 2006-07, Lasme became just the third player in NCAA history to record three triple-doubles in one season. He finished the year ranked second in the country in blocks, 13th in field goal percentage, and 20th in rebounding.
